House Churches

A House AND Community Church Movement

Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Acts 5:42
"Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ."

Instead of one local “community church,” Antioch Wichita has transitioned into a Community AND House Church Movement. Our term for this model is Hub-and-Spoke Church. The “hub” represents Antioch Community Church and the “spokes” are our Antioch House Churches. We are one movement with distinct roles in the wheel.

House Churches are at the core of the foundation at Antioch Wichita. We truly feel that Sunday morning services are not and cannot be, the existence of the church body coming together to grow, love, and restore. The early church, in Scripture, met together regularly in homes and in smaller groups. They merged their lives together and were amazed by what God was doing through them in the process. This is our hearts' desire for our House Churches and this is one of the areas where you will grow the most at Antioch.

Weekly gatherings are comprised of meeting together in homes around the city for a time of fellowship, worship, growth studies, discussion, and prayer. Antioch House Church leaders function as the pastors or shepherds of the church by praying for, loving, and serving its members. Involvement in these churches helps us experience the love and care that each of us needs. House Churches are meeting now. If you are interested in joining a House Church, please contact us. We are striving to have everyone at Antioch become involved in one of these families. Contact us if you are interested in becoming involved in one of our House Churches.
